People usually ask if they should buy a TV now or wait it out?”
You should do so because televisions are getting incrementally better all the time, but recently there has been a huge flurry of progress as manufacturers have rushed to embrace new display standards including Ultra HD (Higher Dimension)and HDR.
Thankfully, things seem to have settled down a little in this department, and the majority of TV manufacturers now support these next generation of features, including newer versions of HDR such as Hybrid Log Gamma. So long as your next TV purchase supports these technologies (looking for an Ultra HD (Higher Dimension)Premium certification is a good way to go), we assure you won’t be regretting your decisions six month’s time when the next sets of televisions arrive.
Best amongst them is support for the new HDMI 2.1 standard , which as well as allowing support for 8K at 60 frames per second and 4K at 120 will also allow for FreeSync to be supported over HDMI.
It’s cool technology for sure, but unless you’re seriously into your gaming then we reckon you’re safe making a purchase now.
1. Samsung Q9F QLED
These televisions do well in displaying the full majesty of the latest HDR content and it comes in 3 different sizes:
●65-inch: Samsung UE65KS9500
●78-inch: Samsung UE75KS9500
● 88-inch: Samsung UE88KS9500
The samsung Q9F is the brightest TV the world has seen and Samsung has been impressing us with high quality televisions that is capable of displaying high quality pictures since 1t. It displays around 1500 nits of brightness on a 10% white HDR window, and reaches nearer 1800 nits in smaller areas, making it the single brightest TV we’ve ever tested and one of the best television sets.
It has unlocking the full potential of HDR to some extent, delivering incredibly life-like, dynamic
and dramatic pictures that also contain more detail and colour information in bright areas than we’ve ever seems.
The set even carries the best attempt yet at turning standard dynamic range pictures into HDR.
The use of direct LED lighting with local dimming and quantum dots also means the Q9F is able to deliver some gorgeously deep black and beautiful colours accompanied with great brightness.
Price of Samsung Q9F in Nigeria is N1,749,045 and that is the price of the least among its sizes.
2. LG OLEDE7 Series
This LG OLED series comes in two variants:
●55-inch: LG OLED55E7
●65-inch: LG OLED65E7
The OLEDE7 televisions comes in slim designs giving us a view of ‘picture on glass’ design
And is a good trend for Televisions. Especially since the way each OLED pixel produces its own light and colour much more better than the LCD, which means the OLEDE7 series delivers levels of contrast and light control just not possible with LCD.
Without a trace of light bleed black colours can mix up with the brightest HDR whites- a feature not compatible with current LCD technologies. This works greatly for high-contrast HDR sources, as well as making today’s standard dynamic
range sources look better too.
While you could opt to buy the sensational amd expensive OLED W7 , buying the more affordable E7 will give you more viewing experience. For all those reasons and more, the E7
OLED is a worthwhile addition to any home theater. Today’s cheapest LG OLEDE7 deals in each available size.
Price of least LG OLED55E7: N1,230,450
3. Panasonic DX802 Series
The Panasonic DX802 Series are gorgeously designed with excellent display and sound quality. It comes in two variants:
●50-inch: Panasonic TX-50DX802B
●58-inch: Panasonic TX-58DX802B
The Panasonic DX802 televisions sat just one rung below Panasonic’s flagship televisions for 2016 (the DX902 sets that feature later in this guide), they’re strikingly aggressively priced.Despite being aggressively priced, the DX802 televisions combine a gorgeous design with excellent picture and sound quality.
Especially when you consider that their feature list includes an awesome-sounding 12-speaker external sound bar audio system, native UHD (Higher Dimension)screens, support for high dynamic range playback and a brilliantly simple smart TV system.
The DX802s has unique design that finds their screens supported with two easel-style silver legs, between which you also rest the external sound bar speaker (though you can remove the screen from the legs and wall mount it if you prefer).
The phenomenal DX802’s edge LED lighting means that one can see unwanted light around bright objects. Otherwise, though, provided you use the televisions’ adaptive backlight feature on its highest setting, the DX802s produce lovely, refined pictures with HDR and especially SDR content that exude Panasonic’s self-proclaimed obsession with making pictures look like their creators intended them to look.
4. Samsung KS7000 Series
This is a dynamic masterpiece from Samsung and come in different sizes
●49-inch: Samsung UE49KS7000
● 55-inch: Samsung UE55KS7000
●60-inch: Samsung UE60KS7000.
The Samsung KS7000 series combines great value with ultra-bright HDR pictures and a slick smart TV system. Samsung has brought high quality HDR to wider audience with the KS7000s .
Their combination of an ultra bright panel and Quantum Dot colour reproduction enables it to deliver levels of dynamism, colour vibrancy and punch with HDR sources that have to be seen to believed considering the range starts at just N600000.
The KS7000s make it easy to find favourite content via anew, improved version of Samsung’s Tizen smart interface, too. Bright HDR objects can cause some backlight striping and blocking when they appear against dark backgrounds, and 3D fans will have to look elsewhere as Samsung has abandoned the feature. The tv sets are quite attractive, having a metallic frame, slim and minimalist desktop ‘feet’.
It’s also nice to find the airy design kept relatively free of cable spaghetti by an external box that passes on picture and sound via a single cable.

5. Sony W805/809C Series
This televisions has proven that you don’t necessarily need a 4K resolution television to enjoy an amazingly viewing experience, and the Sony W805 comes in 4 variants:
● 43-inch: Sony KDL-43W809C
●50-inch: Sony KDL-50W805C
●55-inch: Sony KDL-55W805C
While W809C comes in 3 variants
●43-inch: Sony KDL-43W809C
● 50-inch: Sony KDL-50W809C
●55-inch: Sony KDL-55W809C
Recently, it has been increasingly difficult to find a big-screen TV that doesn’t carry a UHD (Higher Dimension)resolution. Yet there are still plenty of people who have no interest in UHD (Higher Dimension)sources, and so would rather get a high quality HD (Higher Dimension)TV for the same money as a relatively low-quality 4K TV.
It comes with the Android interface which would be sleeker and more customisable (though it does carry a huge amount of apps), and you might want to add an external sound system at some point to replace the rather flimsy built-inspeakers. The W805C/W809C televisions’ fabulous pictures, though, really are gorgeous enough to overwhelm any flaws elsewhere making it one of the best television sets.
The Sony W805/809C series, which deliver probably the finest picture quality the HD (Higher Dimension)world has ever seen while costing precious little by today’s TV standards.
This is a nice choice for Ultra HD (Higher Dimension)televisions.

Sony KDL-55W805C: N 476,000
6. Panasonic DX902 Series
This wonderful television is amazing and comes in two variants:
●58-inch: Panasonic TX-58DX902B
●65-inch: Panasonic TX-65DX902B
The Panasonic DX902 series uses a new honeycomb panel designed to limit how far unwanted light around bright objects can spread and in a bid to deliver levels of light control beyond the typical capabilities of LCD televisions.
Made with a special bright panel, exceptional black levels for an LCD screen and ultra rich but also smartly controlled colors, the new honeycomb approach really does wonders and excellent works for the most part on the latest high dynamic range pictures, giving them an intensity second only to that of Samsung’s KS9500 models. And Panasonic’s models are around N450,000 cheaper.
One thing with the honeycomb design is that in limiting the extent of light bleed in the picture it does sometimes make what light bleed there is look more pronounced. Fast motion occasionally looks slightly soft too. None of which alters the fact, however, that for their money the DX902s are really in a class of their own.
Price of the least Panasonic DX902 Series: N450,000
7. LG OLEDB6 Series
Incase you are in love with the work of OLED technology but can’t get LG’s OLEDE6 series: 55-inch: LG OLED55B6V and 65-inch: LG OLED65B6V, don’t worry because LG changed their approach with its 2016 OLED TV range, preferring to base the differences across the series in the range more on design than picture quality concerns.
So that is why the entry level of OLEDB6 series isn’t quite as ultra-slim and unfeasible gorgeous as the premium ‘picture on glass’ OLEDE6 models, they do deliver broadly similar picture quality, beautiful high contrast, color rich, HDR capable and 4K pictures. All that will likely matter about the OLEDB6 series for many AV fans, though, is that they represent the cheapest way to get your hands on LG’s fantastic OLED tech.
The OLEDB6 pictures lack some of the refinement of the more expensive OLEDE6 screens. There is no support for 3D, and audio is noticeably thinner than that of the sound bar-equipped OLEDE6s.
Prices of LG OLEDB6 deals in each available size:
LG OLED65B6V:N874, 650
8. Sony XD9405 Series
These series would give you a home-cinema experience with its 75-inch model. It is very good for watching movies and would give you a realistic view. In fact, Sony products are good for movies.
Its gigantic 75-inch screen gives you deliciously detailed, colourful, high contrast, clear and natural pictures with high and standard dynamic sources alike, and its enormity also does a great job of underlining the benefits of having a native 4K pixel count to work with. It doesn’t have the brightest pictures around and the issues of high contrast HDR content causing light a bloom of light whenever its around bright objects.
It comes with Android TV’s interface which isn’t the most helpful around in Nigeria either, and the low-profile buttons on the remote control are tortuous to use. But the size and overall quality of the 75XD9405’s pictures creates an. Amazingly immersive experience that could well make the idea of going out to watch films a thing of the past.

9. Samsung K5600 Series
The best HD (Higher Dimension)televisions of samsung comes with a good design of high contrast quality pictures with high prices. And below are it’s different variants.
●32-inch: Samsung UE32K5600
● 40-inch: Samsung UE40K5600
●49-inch: Samsung UE49K5600
●55-inch Samsung UE55K5600
And there are four models in the K5600 range that are better HD (Higher Dimension)Televisions. And they also offer more smart features – including Netflix, Amazon and all the ‘big four’ UK catch up TV services – than you’d usually expect to find.
You can view content on your smartphones and tablets via integrated sreen mirroring, with an option of the extra smart-thing hub availability the TV can turn on as soon as you enter the room, and with ability to tune and adjust connected speakers and light. The 32-inch and 40- inch model are the best, since they bring a level of quality to the small-screen/second room TV markets that’s rarely found these days.
Their colourful pictures, for instance, enjoy much more contrast, brightness and colour vibrancy than the vast majority of other small-screen televisions these days. The ‘K5600’ design is a bit above the flimsy plasticity finishes compared to most non 4K televisions.
10. Panasonic DX600 Series
In case the prices of the above televisions has been scaring you, fret no more because the Panasonic DX600 are cheaper, and comes in different variants which makes it one of the best television sets:
●40-inch: Panasonic TX-40DX600B
●49-inch: Panasonic TX-49DX600B
●55-inch: Panasonic TX-55DX600B
The 40-inch DX600 seems better because the two larger DX600s use different kinds of panel which struggle to deliver useful amounts of contrast. It also comes with Panasonic’s Firefox smart system which exceptionally well presented and easy to use too, and comes backed up by Free view Play to let you access on-demand content from the main UK broadcasters via a TV listings screen that scrolls back through time as well as forwards. The 40DX600, though, is a really appealing model for its N250000 price.
In conclusion, while the relatively small 40-inch screen doesn’t sell the TV’s native 4K resolution all that well and you can’t watch it from much of an angle before colour and contrast start to lose their intensity, the 40DX600 gives you an awful lot of bang for precious little buck.
