Read only memory (ROM) is a kind of non-volatile memory used in PCs and other electronic devices. Information stored away in ROM can’t be electronically modified after the manufacture of the memory device.

This type of memory retains the saved data regardless of whether the device power is off. The data on the ROM can be loaded into the RAM if necessary.
