Google’s new maintenance release schedule has release its latest Beta program tagged Android 7.1.2 Beta Program which gives users an opportunity to try out pre-release versions of Android, optimizations,  bugfixes and provide feedback. The current Android 7.1.2 Developer Preview build is available (as of January 2017) for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the Nexus 5X, the Nexus Playerand the Pixel C. An update for the Nexus 6P will be coming soon.

Note that here will be some app crashes or  issues with Wi-Fi not always working or other bugs. You will have to look out for bugs with the setup wizard if you ever wipe your device. You may opt-out of the program at any time to return to the stable, public version of Android. Note: If you opt-out when your device is running a beta version of Android, all user data on the device will be wiped.

How to Signup Android 7.1.2 Beta Program

  • Go to with your web browser
  • Sign in with your Google account associated with your eligible device (Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel, Pixel XL)
  • Tap on the Enroll Device button next to the desired device
  • Read the terms of service agreement and Select the box agreeing to them
  • Select Join Beta
  • Wait for the OTA update to hit your device and Enjoy the wonderful expereience.
You can opt out by Going back to and select the Unenroll Device button next to your phone or tablet. Note that when you opt out, your device will receive another OTA update which will delete all of your user data.
