Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for transferring data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances using short wavelength. This results to the building personal area networks (PANs).
Managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) with over 30,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, networking, computing, and consumer electronics. Also, The Bluetooth SIG manages the development of the specification, qualification program, and protects the trademarks.
Bluetooth works at frequencies between 2402 and 2480 MHz or 2400 and 2483.5 MHz with guard bands 2 MHz wide at the bottom end and 3.5 MHz wide at the top. Bluetooth uses a radio technology known as frequency hopping spread spectrum. Bluetooth separates transferred data into packets, and transmits each of the packet on one of 79 designated Bluetooth channels.
