A capacitive touchscreen panel has an insulator, such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor, such as indium tin oxide (ITO). Their sensors are also used either on touchscreens or as buttons.
As the human body is also an electrical conductor. Capacitive touch sensors work by sensing the electrical properties of the human body instead of pressure. Generally they don’t work with a stylus so they don’t allow handwriting recognition. Also, capacitive touchscreens feel more sensitive than their resistive counterparts.
