Redmi announced today that the Redmi 11 Prime 5G smartphone will be released in India on September 6. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand recently launched the new Redmi Note 11SE in India, which is essentially a rebranded Redmi Note 10S that was released in the Asian country over a year ago.
The Chinese company has yet to reveal the Redmi 11 Prime 5G’s specifications, but an image shared on Twitter shows what the smartphone looks like. It’s designed around a notched display, and the textured back panel houses two cameras linked by an LED flash.
An earlier report stated that the Redmi 11 Prime 5G was discovered on the IMEI database with the model number 1219I and was codenamed Light. According to reports, the smartphone is a rebranded version of the Poco M4 5G, which is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11E. The smartphone was also recently discovered on the list of Xiaomi Security Updates.
The event page on Xiaomi’s official Indian website gives us an even better look at the Redmi 11 Prime 5G while also revealing its key specs, including the Dimensity 700 SoC, 50MP primary camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
The smartphone will have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and two SIM card slots, both of which will support 5G SIMs. It will come in at least two colors: green and silver/gray.
With the announcement still a week away, Redmi is likely to reveal a few more details about the Redmi 11 Prime 5G in the lead-up to it.
